Meezer Mansion and the Rainbow

The lady of the Meezer Mansion, Mrs. Maisey, loved cats but she had a particular penchant for Siamese cats, affectionately known as Meezers. In fact, she loved Meezers so well, she had Meezer Mansion painted almost entirely in browns, blues and creams.
One blustery day Mrs. Maisey was starting a fire in the fireplace when a bell rang signaling someone at the front gate. She looked out but saw there was no car nor anybody standing there. “How odd” she said, and was turning away when she happened to notice something on the ground. She walked out to the gate to see what it was and to her great surprise what did she find but a picnic basket!

Mrs. Maisey lifted the cover to find a baby kitten who look very similar to a Meezer, except it had a flat face and long, silky fur. There was a note attached to the baby’s fur and it read
Mrs. Maisey looked closely at the kitten. It certainly looked strange with its flat face. Maybe the kitten’s mummy had been too distressed with its appearance to endure the thought of living with it every day. On the other hand, it was rather cute and when it extended a paw to touch Mrs Maisey’s thumb she could only exclaim,’Why you poor little kitty, you’ll freeze out here.’ Then she quickly carried the basket into the house.
The kitten certainly had a Meezer’s voice! When the basket was brought into the house, the kitten starting meowing and meowing at the top of its lungs! Mrs Maisey wondered if the kitten was hungry. She hurried to her pantry because she always kept a couple of cans of cat food. After all, one never knew when a hungry kitten would show up on her door step. “Now, I wonder what flavor of food the kitten would like?” said Mrs. Maisey. “Maybe it will like fishy food.” So she looked and found a can of tuna Stinky Goodness and opened it.
The kitten was very interested in everything that Mrs. Maisey did, and when she put the tuna in a bowl and put the bowl on the floor, the kitten didn’t eat a bite. Then Mrs. Maisey realized the kitten was so tiny it probably needed mother’s milk. Mrs. Maisey then thought about her mama Meezer, Samoora. Would Samoora allow the new kitten to nurse with Samoora’s new litter?
Mrs. Maisey placed the tiny kitten close to Samoora and she began to sniff and rub and finally licked the kitten’s face and ears. Mrs. Maisey took this to mean that Samoora gave her consent and placed the kitten in beside 5 beautiful kittens. It did not take long for the kitten to settle down at the self-serve and purr and purr and purr. Mrs. Maisey was so relieved and thankful to Samoora.
But when she switched on the news on TV a little later, she heard that a rather bad storm was headed her way – lots of thunder and lightening and loud booms. Mrs Maisey was worried that the new baby and all of her Meezers would be frightened, so Mrs Maisey closed all the window shutters and the large wooden front door. She gathered all the kitties into the drawing room and put on her favorite piece of music. Then she baked a cake because the smell of cake baking always settled down the kitties before, plus she liked cake! Soon she heard something peaceful and gentle. They all were together listening to the soothing music and the kitties dozed off, even the new baby. Even Mrs. Maisey started to feel drowsy.
The storm arrived but they didn’t notice until there was a tremendous crash of thunder, and as the sky outside lit up like day, all the lights in the house went out. “Oh no!” said Mrs. Maisey, “I must get out all the fish scented candles and light them.” She glided around the house, filling it’s dark corners with a soft, fishy-smelling warmth.
As she descended the stairs to the landing, she was astonished to see the whole company of cats, less the littlest ones, gathered at the foot of the stairs, tails high and waving. With one voice there lifted a chorus of meows. If not for their familiarity as family, she would have been a wee bit frightened at the sight, but she stepped into their midst and suddenly, a strange feeling came over her.
She began to feel somewhat cat-like and began to understand cat language and feelings. In the flickering candle light, and with the aroma of the fish she began meowing and purring. Suddenly to her dismay a small patch of fur appeared on the back of her hand. She thought she must be imagining this. There was no way she could believe her eyes! Mrs. Maisey ran directly to a mirror. Since she could only see by the light of the flickering fishy-scented candles, it was hard to tell, but it looked like she had whiskers and furry ears!
Then Mrs. Maisey distinctly heard Samoora say “This is a great honor to know what it is to be a cat–even for a little bit.”
Mrs. Maisey decided that this blessing must be magical and could only last a short time. She started to make a list of all of the things she would like to do while she was a cat, which included purring, meowing with the other kitties to get their stories, finding out their likes and dislikes, trying out her tail (she had always thought their tails were wonderful accessories) and seeing how many different positions she could manage to curl up in.
Just then the new little kitten ran up to her, bonked his nose against her chin and said “You’ve given me the greatest gift; a loving forever home. I’m a magic kitten, you see. As my gift to you, every night in the dark you will transform into a magical feline too.”
Mrs. Maisey couldn’t believe her pointy furry ears! The kitten said “So, you wanna wrassle?” Mrs. Maisey thought that there were so many things she wanted to try as a kitty but was she too old to wrassle with a kitten? She trilled a purr and nugged the kitten with her nose and discovered that she felt young again. After a enjoyable wrestling section with the kitten she asked “Shall we go on an adventure?”
She looked around and saw a small opening under the stairs that she had never noticed before. She said to the kitten, “Wanna see where it leads?” and they darted into the crack and found themselves in a tight, narrow passage which became tighter and tighter, so tight that Mrs. Maisey had trouble fitting through, even in her new cat form. She was about to call to the kitten that she wouldn’t be able to follow when the passage widened a bit, and up ahead, she and the kitten saw two large eyes, glowing in the darkness. A loud voice boomed, which seemed even louder in the narrow tunnel.

“WHO GOES THERE? I am the Guardian of All Things Mysterious!” The eyes grew brighter and a shadowed form appeared before Mrs. Maisey and the kitten, a shadowed form which looked like a BIG lion with a huge mane and long tail. “What are you two doing here?” the lion asked. The little kitten boldly walked up to the lion and said, “We two are on our first adventure together to see where this tunnel leads.”
The Big Lion glared down at them. Mrs. Maisey moved in beside the little kitten, now completely filling both sides of the tunnel. The Big Lion stood up and said, “Well, then little mancat, you had better follow me. I’ll show you all sites and make sure that you don’t fall in to the evil part of the tunnel where the big rats live! They are mean and there are also dangerous traps there!

Mrs. Maisey and the little magic kitten followed The Big Lion thru a narrow hallway until they reached a large golden door. The Big Lion pushed the door open with a mighty paw and Mrs. Maisey and the little kitten were surprised to see the most beautiful rainbow! It stretched as far as the eye could see, across a brilliant blue sky.
Then as their gaze lowered, they saw a most wonderful sight. It was a field full of catnip! They couldn’t believe their luck, so they ran out to the field to partake in their wonderful find.
Then the most magical thing of all happened! All of the wonderful kitties that Mrs Maisey had cared for over the years were there. She exclaimed “Oh, my precious Dears! How I’ve missed you all!”
The Big Lion walked over to Mrs. Maisey and curled up beside her. “Mrs. Maisey, my name is Lucca, and this little Mancat is named Himalstun. He is Keeper of the Portal to the Rainbow Bridge. Himalstun is able to see into the hearts of humans and he has seen something very tender in your heart. He does not often bestow the honor of this gift. From this moment on you will be to travel through the Portal on any night to visit all those Who Came Before. Although we know that you love all animals, your deepest passion has always been for cats. That is why you will always transform into a cat, and a very lovely Siamese cat at that!
Mrs. Maisey was overcome with emotion as she looked at the two of them. Finally she turned to Himalstun and said ” I do not know how to express my gratitude, Himalstun. This is the most wonderful gift! In fact it’s quite unbelievable!”
Himalstun’s eyes softened and the tiny flat-faced kitten purred and simply said “Mrs. Maisey, Samoora has told me of so many kindnesses you have shown to so many cats all these many years. This is my Thank You to you! Please, go now. Enjoy the meadows and catnip fields with all those Who Came Before, while it is still night.”
Mrs. Maisey walked up along side of Himalstun and rubbed his tiny face and licked his ears and purred her very best purrs. She said goodbye to Lucca and told Samoora she would see her at dawn’s light. Then she turned and ran into the meadow under the Rainbow.

Oh this turned out soooo well! M&M both think these stories should be made into a book.
When you add something, you can't help having a storyline in mind. Then you wait and see if it pans out as you had thought, or veers off somewhere else. It's great fun!
The stories are actually very good too!
